Soyini Grey is senior multi-media reporter. She got her start in the early days of the Caribbean New Media Group (C.N,M.G., now TTT) before they had set up the television arm. Therefore, her introduction to media was producing news for radio and online. When the television station launched it was with a newscast for which she initially served as a copyeditor for the scripts. This environment taught her the differences between the various forms of media, an appreciation she retains to this day. She is now a Senior Producer at CNC3, which is part of Guardian Media Ltd, but prior to that she was Lead Anchor at the Ecuador-based teleSur English.
She is a general journalist with a special interest in Caribbean Culture, Mental Health and the Environment. Ms. Grey believes that Art and Culture reporting is extremely important in a place like Trinidad and Tobago, because its rich history and customs are unmatched and worth exploration. As a journalist she is interested in developing into a documentary filmmaker and keen social commentator whose work is anchored in research. She hopes to work towards producing Caribbean focused news products so that the region becomes more aware of what is happening with each other, to that end she serves as Secretary of the Association of Caribbean Media Workers.
